Reverend Haywood Bradley, Jr.

Pastor Haywood Bradley, Jr., was born in the city of  Baltimore, Maryland. Pastor Bradley received his primary education from the Baltimore City public school system.  He received his Bachelor Degree in Christian Education from the United Baptist College and Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland.  Pastor Bradley is married to Leading Lady Tobi Davis-Bradley and has two children and three grandchildren.

Pastor Bradley is so blessed and excited to be part of God’s ministry that is striving to do kingdom building.  He is a visionary who prays that the Lord will always be the center of his vision and focus as he continues to minister and serve in the kingdom of God.  Pastor Bradley believes that the Lord is calling the church for such a time as this to preach, teach, train, witness and serve.  Pastor Bradley understands that the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; so he consistently prays to God who is the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest as instructed in Matthew 9:37-38.

Pastor Bradley served as Associate Minister at the New Saint Mark Baptist Church in Baltimore,Maryland, where Dr. Bowyer G. Freeman is Pastor. His ministry services also included Sunday school Superintendent, Adult Sunday school class teacher, and new member’s class teacher.

Pastor Bradley is a passionate advocate for the advancement of people within the church and community.  He worked diligently in the community as founder and president of The Mount Olivet Community Association where he managed and was responsible for the daily operations of community interests and the resolution of problems. Pastor Bradley planned and organized individual and group action committees for research and development of projects. He served as spokesperson and leader in assemblies of discussion and voting procedures with local and state officials. Pastor Bradley served as a Big Brother for the Department of Social Services guiding, directing and supervising youth with regard to personal development and the establishment of a supportive family environment.  He held membership with the Randallstown Branch of the N.A.A.C.P., where he served as vice president and the director of religious affairs.

Pastor Bradley is the recipient of numerous civic recognition awards in addition to the Distinguished Service Award from the Baptist Congress of Christian Education, an Auxiliary of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland Inc. Pastor Bradley retired from the United States Postal Services in June 2011.

Pastor Haywood Bradley was elected as the third Pastor of the New Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church on December 16, 2009.  It is his earnest desire to serve God and proclaim to others the saving grace and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since his appointment as Pastor of the New Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, his Mission Statement proclaims, “I must be about my Father’s business”.  The spirit of the Lord is upon me to preach the Gospel to the poor.  He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord…….. Luke 4:18-19.

His sincere desire is to have a strong Christian Education Ministry.  In his first seven months as Pastor; God bestowed upon Pastor Bradley’s ministry blessings that include: appointment of a Sunday School Superintendent, organized Sunday School Curriculum, change in Sunday School time with a continental breakfast included, change in worship services, change in church bulletin, change in Baptismal service, Increased membership of 47 members, appointed Trustees, reinstituted Men’s Ministry, renovated and furnished Pastor Study and Office, renovated and furnished classrooms, renovated and furnished leadership offices, restructured the Prayer Band, Youth class added to Wednesday Night Bible study, expansion of New Disciples Orientation, Champaign for Jesus Community Outreach, inclusion of Dance Ministry in Sunday Morning Worship, Meals served between Sunday services, formulation of Male Usher Ministry, revived Newsletter Ministry, appointed WEBSITE WEBMASTER,  restructured Youth and Young Adult Ministry, restructured Christian Education Ministry, Christian Education Introduction Day, appointed Director of Evangelism, restored Transportation ministry, revamped the Reverend Franklin C. Blackmon, Sr. Scholarship, hosted Church-wide Stewardship workshop, and instituted a Family and Friends Day.

Pastor Bradley believes that if we are going to grow the ministry in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we must offer it, package it, present it and we must be consistent in the way we live it. Pastor Bradley knows that it is not about him, but that it is all about Christ Jesus.  To God Be The Glory for the Great Things He Hath already done; for the things He is doing, and for All the Great Things He Shall Do!
